Welcome aboard the Disney Cruise Line! Today, embarkation day, we are setting sail on the Disney Dream from Civitavecchia near Rome. First things first, I want to give you a tour of my deluxe verandah stateroom. The cabin is spacious and well-appointed, with a beautiful view from the verandah. I love how Disney pays attention to every detail to create a magical experience for their guests.

After settling into our cabin, it’s time to explore the ship. The Disney Dream is a magnificent vessel with so much to offer. From the grand atrium to the dazzling entertainment areas, there is something for everyone. I highly recommend taking the time to wander around and discover all the nooks and crannies of this enchanting ship.

Disney IT Frustrations

While exploring the ship, I must mention the frustration I experienced with Disney IT. The Navigator App, which is supposed to provide helpful information and assist with navigating the ship, was acting up. Unfortunately, I couldn’t get it to work properly. I reached out to Disney IT, and they informed me that it’s a known issue. However, they assured me that I could still access the website on my phone and that the app would likely work once I was on board. It’s important to remember that technology can sometimes have glitches, but Disney does its best to resolve them.

Now, let’s talk about what to wear when boarding the ship. For this occasion, I’ve chosen a cute blue and white skirt from J.Crew, paired with one of my blue Unbound Merino wool t-shirts. If you choose to wear a skirt, make sure it’s not too short to avoid any unexpected wind surprises.

Breakfast with Adam – No Mouse Ears

I met up with my friend Adam for breakfast before boarding the ship. We had a delicious meal with options like a full English breakfast, homemade pastries, fruits, and much more. It’s always nice to start the day off right with good food and good company. Oh, and I have to mention, neither of us brought any Mouse Ears this time. But fear not, you can always purchase Mouse Ears on the ship if you want to add that extra touch of Disney magic to your outfit.

Buffet and Excitement

After breakfast, we made our way to the buffet area, and let me tell you, the spread was impressive. From savory dishes to delectable desserts, the buffet had something for every palate. As we indulged in the delicious food, our excitement for the cruise grew even more. The anticipation of all the fun adventures and experiences awaiting us on this journey was palpable.

Issue with Navigator App and Health Questionnaire

Remember the frustration I mentioned earlier with the Navigator App? Well, it turns out the issue was related to the health questionnaire. As part of the COVID-19 protocols, all guests are required to fill out a health questionnaire before boarding the ship. While I had attempted to complete it online, we were still required to fill out paper copies of the questionnaire before boarding the bus to the ship. It’s essential to follow all the necessary protocols and ensure everyone’s safety.

As I mentioned, we had to fill out paper copies of the health questionnaire. Even though I had already completed it online, the cruise staff informed us that paper copies were still needed. It’s always important to be prepared and flexible in these situations. The staff was helpful and made sure everyone completed the necessary paperwork before boarding the bus to the ship.

Travel Anxiety and Contingency Preparation

As someone who experiences travel anxiety, I understand the importance of being prepared for every contingency. Even in uncertain times like these, it’s crucial to stay calm and trust that everything will work out. The staff at Disney Cruise Line has been wonderful in handling any issues that arise, and they assure us that they will take care of every guest’s needs. Ship Amenities – Cabanas and Aqueduct

The Disney Dream offers a plethora of amenities and activities for every age group. Two of my personal favorites are the Cabanas and the Aqueduct. The Cabanas provide a serene and relaxing atmosphere where guests can lounge by the poolside, sipping on refreshing drinks and enjoying the warm sun. The Aqueduct, on the other hand, offers an exhilarating water ride that takes you on twists and turns high above the ship. It’s an absolute blast and not to be missed!

One thing you’ll notice on a Disney Cruise is that the menu doesn’t change much, which is great because you can always find your favorites. For me, that favorite is the penne pasta dish. I’ve been enjoying this pasta for over 14 years on Disney Cruise Line, and it never disappoints. From the perfectly cooked pasta to the flavorful sauce, it’s a culinary delight.

Before dinner, we decided to treat ourselves to a pre-dinner cocktail. It’s always fun to try new drinks and indulge in some adult-only time on the cruise. We did run into a small hiccup, as we were unsure of the exact location for dinner. But that’s part of the adventure, right? Sometimes it’s exciting to have a little mystery and spontaneity in your plans.

For dinner, we dined at the Royal Palace, one of the themed restaurants on the Disney Dream. The ambiance was regal and elegant, transporting us to a fairytale setting. I highly recommend trying the salmon dish. The flavors were exquisite, and the presentation was impeccable. Disney’s attention to detail shines through, even in their culinary offerings.

Limited Snack Availability

During our cruise experience, we did notice that there were limited snack options available at one of the restaurants. While this may be a minor inconvenience, it’s important to remember that there are plenty of other dining venues and options. You’ll never go hungry on a Disney Cruise!
